What to Do If External Links Point to Competitor Websites?

Overview

When QuickCreator writes articles, it inserts highly relevant external links to enhance the richness and credibility of the content while boosting the website’s authority. You might notice that occasionally, the external links in QuickCreator’s articles include competitor websites. First, from an SEO perspective, this isn’t entirely a bad thing—if the linked content is valuable to users, it can also improve the credibility and usefulness of our page. Second, without sufficient data, it’s challenging for AI to distinguish which links belong to competitor websites.

We fully understand the desire to avoid driving traffic to competitors. To correctly identify which links belong to competitors, we’ve provided a domain blacklist feature.

Domain Blacklist

The domain blacklist allows you to specify external link domains you don’t want appearing in your articles. As shown, the blacklist is managed here:

Blacklist Rules

The blacklist operates based on top-level domains. For example, once the following links are added to the blacklist, all links under the example.com domain will be blocked:

You only need to configure a domain once.

How to Add to the Blacklist

Manual Addition

One way is to go to the blacklist management page and click “+ Add Domain” in the top right corner.

Quick Addition

Alternatively, during article editing, we offer a faster method, as shown below:

After generating an article, you can manually review the links. If a competitor’s website link appears, you can add it directly.

With these two methods, you can easily ensure that the external links in your articles meet your needs.
